The Arizona Cardinals fell just short of another one of their trademark incredible comebacks, losing to the Buffalo Bills 19-16 in overtime after squandering an opportunity to win it in regulation.

With the Cardinals needing a field goal to tie it with a little under three minutes remaining, Kevin Kolb was able to bust off a 22 yard scamper to convert a first-and-20. But Kolb would be knocked out of the game with a rib injury attempting to scramble on the next play, forcing Week 1 starter John Skelton to enter the game in the midst of a desperate comeback.

And Skelton was able to do exactly what Kolb did during the home opener, moving the offense with a 17-yard laser to Larry Fitzgerald on 4th-and-11. Three incompletions later, Jay Feely did the unthinkable, easily draining a 61-yard field goal to knot the game up at 16.

After forcing a three-and-out, Skelton hit Larry Fitzgerald on a 28-yard reception that set up another field goal attempt for Feely. This time, however, his kick hit the upright from 38 yards away to send the game to overtime.

In the extra period, the Bills were able to move the ball 50 yards before being forced to punt on their opening possession. But Jarius Byrd would jump in front of Skelton's second pass of overtime and return it 29 yards to set up Ryan Lindell game-winning chip shot from 25 yards out.

Fantasy studs/duds

Both of Buffalo's running backs put together decent fantasy performances. C.J. Spiller finished with 110 total yards and a touchdown, while Fred Jackson fumbled but managed to put up 83 total yards and a touchdown of his own. Arizona wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald had six receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown.

Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had a forgettable afternoon with 153 and zero touchdowns on 18-of-32 passing.

Larry Fitzgerald makes it look easy

Larry Fitzgerald has been putting up highlight reel plays for years. But this is just ridiculous.

Not even fair.

What's next?

The Arizona Cardinals will travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings next week. Buffalo will play at home against the Tennessee Titans.
